Job Description

Applies & removes thread protectors, cleans, de-burrs, tumbles, blasts and removes foreign matter from material.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Operates Tumble Blasters & Tumblers.
  • Adjusts, repairs, or replaces defective product parts, sometimes using hand tools.
  • Cleans dust, dirt, oil, and other foreign matter from material or machine surfaces, using cleaning solution, rag, or air hose.
  • Records production data on paper or in computer.
  • Lifts, loads, sorts, and moves materials, supplies, and finished products between storage and work areas, using push-cart, hoist, or dolly.
  • Other duties as may be assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • One to three months related experience and/or training preferred.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Sitting and or standing 8 hours daily.
  • May lift up to 40 lbs. with assistance as necessary.
  • Walking, bending, stooping with minimal to moderate frequency.

Skills / Requirements

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Light physical effort equal to frequent lifting or moving of lightweight materials. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Use of hand/fingers continuously through shift to manipulate components, tools, etc.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Regularly required to sit or stand for the length of shift, bend and reach.

PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT:

The use of Safety Glasses is required.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Work performed in a shop environment.
  • Exposed to any number of elements but with none present to the extent of being disagreeable.
