Job Description

Responsible for producing high quality injection molded parts at an acceptable rate as set forth by company standards. Follow standard work methods and practice safe work habits to ensure production is as efficient, high-quality and as safe as possible.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Set up of Injection molding presses.
  • Reconfigure molds on presses.
  • Following written and verbal instructions, employee will manage workload and schedule to complete assignments on time.
  • Support production schedules; perform equipment changeovers.
  • Identify defects and make adjustments.
  • Use strong problem solving skills to troubleshoot mold machines, auxiliary equipment, and processes.
  • Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follows prescribed safety regulations.
  • Willingness to work and follow instructions, cooperative attitude toward co-workers and supervisors.
  • Will work alone and in a team environment with changing assignments.
  • Other duties as requested, directed or assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of high school education or General Education Diploma (GED)
  • Five plus years hands-on experience as a Mold Technician.
  • Must have a good command of the English language, both written and verbal.
  • Must have strong Math skills – able to do shop Math.

Skills / Requirements

JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Direct experience in Injection Mold – including: Set up, Quick Change, Operation, Diagnosis, and Troubleshooting.
  • Must be focused on producing high quality products to tight tolerances with minimum down time.
  • Use and be familiar with packaging and measuring tools, interpret visual aids and must be able to perform shop math.
  • Must be willing and able to communicate both verbally and in writing with supervisor of job status, work load, problems and progress.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

This is not a supervisory position.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Light physical effort equal to frequent lifting or moving of lightweight materials. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Use of hand/fingers continuously through shift to manipulate components, tools, etc.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Regularly required to sit or stand for the length of shift, bend and reach.

PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT:

  • The use of Safety Glasses is required.
  • Other equipment as needed by specific machines.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Work performed in a shop environment and may be exposed to any number of elements including heat, dust, solvents, oils and grease but none present to the extent of being disagreeable.
  • May work at different machines as production needs require, or shift from one station to another.
