JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of building, grounds and mechanical maintenance. Oversees preventive maintenance program with Maintenance Coordinator. Select and request materials, hardware, and equipment for repairs and installation of existing and new equipment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following: Supervise employees in maintenance scheduling on all machinery, buildings and grounds. Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair and maintain all electrical and machinery maximizing production time and minimizing down time. Coordinate redesign and rebuild machines and overhaul troublesome components and attachments. Explore and recommend methods for the improvement of machine operation. Coordinate all activities relative to the installation and relocation of existing machines and equipment. Ensure all required preventive maintenance activities according to procedures and schedules. Set up, adjust and operate precision fabrication equipment to machine parts for equipment, design and build new parts or equipment to improve machine operation. Demonstrate a mature, problem solving approach when dealing with all levels of site personnel, vendors, and customers, as well as the ability to cope with hazardous conditions or heavy time demands. Ability to start and persist with a plan of action, while exhibiting a high level of motivation, cooperation, and urgency. Ability to read, write, speak and comprehend the English language. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide, and calculate percentages; apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. Ability to operate a keyboard and perform basic computer functions. Ability to identify and take appropriate action when an abnormal situation develops. Ability to communicate effectively, responsibly, and promote effective working relationships. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Audit work performed on assigned work orders. Ensure safety procedures are followed including Lock-out Tag-out, flash protection, fork lift and ladder safety. Other duties may be assigned.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms. Occasionally required to walk, reach bend, sit and crouch. Frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds or more with assistance or a forklift. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and depth perception.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. Occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
