Job Description

This position would be responsible for ensuring only quality product are getting packaged, placed in cases and properly prepared for shipping. Follow standard work methods and practice safe work habits to ensure production is as efficient, high-quality and as safe as possible.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Receive work instructions, parts, and necessary tooling required to complete assigned tasks.
  • Will be operating pneumatic presses, computers, fixturing parts, bagging and labeling.
  • Package and label parts. Will package into blister packs, tubes, and bags depending upon item. 
  • Count and confirm correct quantity against Shipper Sheet. Place completed project in appropriate area for re-check.
  • Accurately and clearly complete all required documentation.
  • With experience, may resolve assembly and packing problems. Reports all problems to supervisor.
  • Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follows prescribed safety regulations.
  • Willingness to work and follow instructions, cooperative attitude toward co-workers and supervisors.
  • Will work alone and in a team environment with changing assignments.
  • Other duties as requested, directed or assigned.

Skills / Requirements

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of high school education or General Education Diploma (GED)
  • Three months of related factory experience.
  • Must have a good command of the English language, both written and verbal.
  • Must have basic Math skills.
  • Must have excellent hand-eye coordination and be able to perform repetitive motion.

JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Following established methods and procedures, must be able to perform, but not limited to the following operations necessary for packaging and preparation while maintaining rigid quality: fixturing, stamping, labeling, packaging, hand tool operations and machine operation.
  • Ability to pay close attention to detail and quality while performing repetitive tasks.
  • Use and be familiar with packaging and measuring tools, interpret visual aids and must be able to perform basic math.
  • Must be willing and able to communicate both verbally and in writing with supervisor of job status, work load, problems and progress.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Light physical effort equal to frequent lifting or moving of lightweight materials. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Use of hand/fingers continuously through shift to manipulate components, tools, etc.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Regularly required to sit or stand for the length of shift, bend and reach.

PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT:

  • The use of Safety Glasses is required.
  • Other equipment as needed by specific machines.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Work performed in a shop environment.
  • Exposed to any number of elements but with none present to the extent of being disagreeable.
  • May work at different workstations as production needs require, or shifts from one station to another, during the packaging process.
